Registration

Registration to the Humanitarian Studies Course is open to graduate students and professionals with a vested interest in the field of humanitarian response. All course registrations will be carefully reviewed by program administration and accepted applicants will be notified in writing. Course fees will cover the classroom training (breakfast, lunch and course materials) as well as participation in the disaster simulation exercise (meals, tent and shared equipment rentals included). Formal confirmation of enrollment will be sent upon receipt of course fees.

Admission Requirements:

All applicants are required to:

1. Complete and return the program application

2. Submit a 1 page statement of interest which describes your interest in applying for the Humanitarian Studies Course

3. Submit a current resume

4. Forward (1) letter of recommendation in support of your course application from a supervisor or colleague

5. Forward all application materials by email to the Humanitarian Studies Initiative

Pay the associated course fee

Note: The Humanitarian Studies Course is not a formal university course. For those who will need a Visa to enter the US please plan accordingly and consult with your local embassy for Visa application instructions. A letter of support for the Visa application can be requested following acceptance into the Humanitarian Studies Course.

Accommodations

Accommodations are not included in the program course fees. We highly recommend that prospective participants begin their housing search (if traveling to participate in the course) upon submitting application materials. Boston, Massachusetts is a major tourist attraction and accommodations can be expensive. A list of recommended accommodations is provided here.
